What i hate about Malaysia is:
1. State controlled media - publishing only what the government wants us to know. Look at our newspapers controlled by political parties, printing permits controlled by government. Only "Barisan National" political party can use the media. Other politic parties cannot.
2. Racial discrimination - the long suffering Chinese & Indians. Quotas imposed in universities, scholarships, public sector employment, just to name but a few.
3. Reckless Malaysian drivers. They're speed racers like Initial D (esp the motocyclists).
4. Oil price, public tol and other taxes are way too high. Barisan national promises Malaysians to have lower cost of living. Yet when they have been elected, cost goes higher.
5. Police bribing with gangsters. Even though you read in the newspapers that police has captured gangsters and confiscate, yet they accept bribes and release them in next day.
6. Unfriendly taxi drivers. They never want to send you to your destination.

Speaking about rude taxi drivers, some of them never put on the taxi fare counters to calculate the overall charges.
They will say out the price ( eg. "$20!!" ) with no negotiate.
How rude is that?! What more can you say about pirated DVDs that selling in public in front of tourists

I don't hate Malaysia and actually admire it . It's doing a great job considering its ethnic composition (wait til you've been to other countries- even western ones like Spain, France, Netherlands etc!).
However, I no longer support the New Economic Policy. It has achieved its purpose and it's time to get it done and over with. The best Malaysians are leaving the country and what's left are well..the leftovers. It's time the good ones get something from the government and work for the country .
I also do not like the corruption . The bribery, the fact that if my dad is a datuk, minister (or simply is friends with ANYONE important), big gangster, some rich man whatever means that I (and my friends) can get away with anything. That's ridiculous and stupid.
Actually, the oil prices, tol and taxes are very low in Malaysia. Now, half my pay goes to income tax every month (I don't live in Malaysia anymore). Gas prices are higher because it is not subsidised (I pay RM6 per litre in this country now). Of course I get more because of the higher taxes (study allowance etc which we don't have in Malaysia).
I agree that it is very important for media to be state free but let's face it, the media is a tool everywhere in the world. For example, FOX is obviously republican. That's the way it is everywhere. In an ideal world, the media would be completely objective but there is no such thing.
I also agree with your 3rd point btw. Malaysian drivers are mad! I was in KB a few months ago and wah the taxis didn't even have seatbelts, drove on the wrong side on the road etc.
Taxi drivers.. AIyah, they're quite kesian. They earn so little, no wonder they don't want to work extra. I don't like them too la, always trying to con me (10 minute drive, normal price RM6 but they try to charge me RM18 because i was with a kwai lo) but can you blame them? They have to pay for petrol and the rent of the car , how much can they earn really... I pay 14 euro per 10 minute taxi ride here. I don't expect or want Malaysian taxi drivers to charge me 14 euros in Malaysia but maybe RM14 would be a fair fare.
All that said, if I could pick one country to live in, I would still pick Malaysia. As long as you are middle class, Malaysia has better healthcare than a lot of Western European countries, you can get rich easier and faster in Malaysia (lots of opportunities and less socialist), and it's so much more colourful and beautiful than a lot of places. People are also nicer and genuinely warm.

If the best things about Malaysia are listed here as well, I guess it will be more than that. Sometimes maybe we need to look at other issues as well.
After all the People are living in harmony. That's the most important.
