For me, it's the ability to perceive 3-dimensional space within my mind. I'm talking about theoretical space, in particular, the ability to make things fit together theoretically before they're built in reality. At times, I'll be in a group of people all trying to figure out how to get something to fit together. It used to amaze me that everyone was still struggling to figure it out while I was standing there knowing the answer.

I have leveraged and relied upon this gift to the extent that I do not have to work very hard to have a profoundly enjoyable life. I feel incredibly lucky, almost to the point of feeling guilty about how easy it has been to have my lifestyle as a result of relying upon this gift.

Please do not misunderstand me. I'm not bragging or trying to "pump" myself up to make me seem better than everyone else. If anything, it's the opposite. I always think of this ability as a "GIFT." It does not, therefore translate to some feeling of accomplishment within me.

I try to avoid divulging any details or information about this in my everyday life. I try to present myself in a normal, humble / non-arrogant way to those around me, even my employees. Most people around me cannot understand very clearly what it is I do, or more significantly, why I'm so "important" in the grand scheme of things within my firm and the profession of architecture.

When a client is trying to build a new project. the goal will most likely invariably appear to be un-reconcilable with the constraints of his real property. At least, this is what everyone else perceives. Enter me. I don't have to advertise. I don't have to try to persuade potential clients to hire me. I just do what very few others can. And, I can't explain why or how this is so.

While I do think I'm better than many people I meet, for a variety of reasons, I also know that I'm not the best at anything and everything. I'm not sure I have a gift. I have mass amounts of common sense, I can string sentences together and make poetry but I am not special or original. I won't cure cancer or solve any NASA equations. I mean something to people that mean something to me and I can get through this life with my loyal, (too) honest traits and spit in the face of adversity if need be. However I am not gifted or extraordinary to the masses, only to myself and my family and that's really all I need or want.

I realize this but what would you define as a gift ? You say something not taught? so prodigies do not have gifts because they were taught and happened to excel? what about autistic people who have limited brain functioning in the communication area but have amazing memory for puzzles..their gift is given to somewhat compensate for what is lost elsewhere. So what I mean is I'm not sure gifts are innate seeing that people who are gifted either lack completely in other areas of their life (which makes their gift somewhat of a compensation) or the gifted scholars who just happen to excel in an area after being taught (and also seem to somewhat lack in the social human element).
As for natural beauty, that just good genes! No luck or gift, just a great perk.
In short, no, I do not have a gift. I'm just a pretty girl who likes words and what they can construct. I have my women's intuition that never fails me and the ability to pick up any concept I am willing to learn (being willing is the key to that). Most people that are open to expanding themselves and utilizing their common sense will have these same traits. It depends on how people use what they have in order to constitute having a gift.

I am gifted with communication, I've always been able to listen and try to understand what people are really saying i.e. "I'm just not happy with my marriage" means two things. "Ive found someone who might be better" or "I haven't attempted to maintain my relationship well" I used to have 16 year old girls asking me for advice when I was still just over 10. As far as using it, I'm doing it right now and every time I have a conversation or write to anyone.

I believe I am,..and so are everyone of us; Only some don't realize it as of yet. My gift? I'm a visual artist, and a designer. I got more than that, but won't say anymore. Just can't help thanking The Great One who has given me all these and so much more...Amen.
