Near married for 3 years and 6 months ago a close friend of my wife to me that my wife told her she had an affair last year with her cousin. I confronted my wife and she told me it was all an imagineation story but later I came across with some photo's together with her cousin. I have tried to accept for what she has done but after 6 months I now find it hard to love her anymore. I guess nature takes its course and with all the trust gone I feel marriage has become very empty. Any one had the same circumstances by trying to put it behind but it just doesn't work.

Unless the photos you saw show your naked wife in the arms of her cousin, then you need to believe what your wife tells you. Your marriage vows were 'til death do we part', not 'til I stop loving you do we part'. Believe what your wife tells you, and put it out of your mind.

If you can proove that your wife has an affair with her cousin then I would say its normal that you feel this distance in your relationship. If you feel that way, maybe you need to put them together with a third person that you both trust and talk about this to find a solution. If you are right I also cant live wth someone who cheats me with the member of her family. You deserve better than that.

Three and a half years of marriage and a close meddling friend advising you of an affair your wife told them about should be ignored.

Your wife said she made up the flowery story to this meddling friend of an affair with her couisin, a family member, just to see if the meddling friend could be trusted with confidential information. Meddling close friend obviously is not, as you allowed that person to cause strife in your marriage.

Stop giving your wife a reason to make her fantasy conversation a reality (and not with a couisin) by pushing her away! Many women make up stories to tell friends, male and female friends, to spice things up in an otherwise great marriage. Trust her until proven otherwise.

After three and a half years you know when your wife is truthful or not, just start paying attention without being a nag, any confirmation or giving it your excuse to stray.

Where's the proof that this happened? I don't think that I would destroy my marriage until I found proff. why not talk to the cousin and find out if it is true. Then you have the right to move on.

from your story the evidence is poor, you need something more concrete to make your assumptions.
