Is there anything I should know or be aware of when installing and using my 32-bit apps on Windows 32-bit on a 64-bit CPU? Or should I use 32-bit apps on Windows 64-bit on the 64-bit CPU? Since not all 32-bit apps will work with 64-bit Windows, what is better running the apps/os as 32-bits or running it as split 32/64 apps/os on 64-bit CPU?

64bit processors also run fine on 32bit OS. 64bit OS is best left to workstations and servers where they also work with large amount of RAM. For personal computing, 32bit is just fine and there are lots of matured drivers for almost all popular devices. It may not always be true with 64bit OS.

Not really. 32-bit operating systems normally work just fine on 64-bit CPUs. If you're using a 32-bit OS then use 32-bit apps.
