Your body is still adjusting to the (i think) severe weight change.
Eat as healthy as possible and go and see a doctor mabye (s)he can tell you what to do.

I have had the same thing. I have problems with my digestive system, and so have lost a lot of weight. I didn't have any periods for two years and even now they are erratic. It's a normal thing if a womans body is struggling for the menstrual cycle to go. Anorexics get this a lot. I would give it time, but if you have an eating disorder, or you are actively trying to get pregnant, maybe some help would be a good idea.

I am assuming that you overdid the weight loss a bit, this certainly can cause secondary amenorrhea. Only two things will artificially restart them, the pill, which is pointless unless you are also looking for contraception, and clomid, which is only indicated if you are trying to get pregnant.

There is nothing magical or essential about having periods, and if your previous weight loss is the cause, then there are now no health issues if you are normal weight. If I was female, I would just be grateful for the break. I am of course politely assuming that there is no possibility of pregnancy?

Eat healthily and maintain a balanced diet. [Remember that a womans daily calorie intake is 2000 calories].

Have you been under a lot of stress recently? if so it might be why you havnt started your periods.

Go to your doctor and talk it out with them too. But dont go crazy and try and put on a lot of weight or lose a lot of weight. Just be natural and average and eat healthily. Also remembering to occasionally excercise.

You could also check your BMI [Weight and height chart] to see if your underweight.

Ime not a doctor so sorry if it isnt much help =[

But i hope it helps.

Hi Just Started! I think your first point of call should be with your local general practioner who can refer you to a specialist, usually called a gynocologist. You will get many, many, many replies on what to do on this forum. A specialist trained in this field of expertise will give your physical health and safety priority , and will be the only one who can give you the right answers you need for treatment, if necessary. Remember your body needs proper nutrition for it to function correctly. Hope this helps you, and good luck!

It would be because of the weight loss. Did you lose it quickly on one of those "slim fast/shake" type diets? I'm guessing that periods will return to normal once your body readjusts but still be checked out by doc.
Congratulations on your weight loss. x

This happens to me when ever I lose too much weight. My Dr put me on the pill and gave me Ensure to drink. They help maintain your weight and all you have to do is drink 2 a day. Doesn't matter how much stress you are under!!

This could be related to a hormone imbalance but the only way to know for sure is to have this evaluated by your doctor to see what they think could be causing this.
