I thought usually you only take clomid for 5 days at a time. Go buy an ovulation predictor kit. Also you should be taking your basal body temperature every morning before you get out of bed. If your temp goes up around the 10-14 days after menses..then that usually means you are ovulating. Usually you ovulate the 10-14 days after the 1st day of your period. Your doctor should have explained all of this to you before prescribing you CLOMID. the ovulation kit is not 100% sure either-bc sometimes the hormone in clomid will give a false reading. I am very surprised your doctor even gave you clomid if you don't even know which days you would normally ovulate--could be why you aren't getting pregnant! Not trying to be rude. Clomid is not a drug to mess with. It can cause multiple births, enlarged ovaries, and cysts. GOOD LUCK!!! oh yehh--relax!!! sometimes not trying to get pregnant works! I'm serious.

My RE suggested starting every other day at CD 11 and continuing for a week. Start about four days prior to when you should ovulate. I used an ovulation predictor kit which allowed us to better time our intercourse. When the test line is as dark or darker than the control line you're positive and it's time to go. He suggested a week so that you're timing the intercourse on either side of ovulation. I'm assuming this is your first time on the drug. With each cycle (if Clomid works!) you'll have a better idea of when to time sex. Hopefully one time will be all you need though. Good luck to you!

I would highly reccommend getting ovulation test strips. Start testing yourself about four days after you take your last pill and continue to test until you get a positive. I would do this for a few months (if you end up trying that long) to help you figure out when you ovulate on Clomid.

This month, start trying on CD 12 and have sex every other day until about four days after you get a positive on an ovulation test strip.

try using OPKs as those would really help you determine what dys you're ovulating, but also you should ask your obgyn or RE (fertility specialist) to see what they recommend in your case, you can also ask an RE online for free and get thier opinion, try www.FertilityTies.com
good luck!
