Obviously so he is more streamline when swinging through the trees and diving with Jane. Also, how could we distinguish him from the monkeys if he was just as hairy. I'm not sure but I think I heard he had a promotion deal with gillette too.

He did, but got fed up with the hours the matriarch ape would insist on spending searching it for nits and lice when he would rather go and swing. He used a knife (no I don't know where he got that from; kept it plenty sharp though); for the same reason, he always had his hair clean and well combed.

Ever hear of something called flint, which even primitive man used! Now it could be argued that he shaves because of Jane's preference; however, it could also be argued that he prefers his Jane to be shaved, so what's good for the goose is good for the gander! because it was not in fashion when he was popular, also even though he lived in a jungle, people wanted him to be very civilized. Tarzan and Jane had to be married on screen before they could sleep together and have boy.

Because he shaves. However his razor is duff and it hurts a lot hence the roaring and yelling that goes on.

good point!! if he has lived in the jungle all his life surely he would have one!!! and also have u nogticed he's never really dirty!! and where did he get the rag to cover his bits? and why would he bother coz he would not know any different!!
