I don't have 2002 so the right click on TABS does not work

I have Excel 2000 so I KNOW now that the dab colours can not be changed

Both Tab and macro button colors can be changed:

Tab:
1. Right click Sheet's tab.
2. Click "Tab Color..."
3. Choose Color. Hit Ok.

Form Macro Button.
1. Open the VBA toolbar
(To do this right click in the gray space by your standard and formatting toolbars. Chose the "Visual Basic" toolbar.)
2. Click the "Design Mode" button. (2nd button from the right). This will allow you to edit objects.
3. Right click the button which background you'd like to change.
4. Click Properties.
5. "BackColor" is the property for background color. Select drop down arrow next to the value and choose from the palette of colors available.

Strayinma is correct on both counts. However, if you want to change the color of all of the tabs at once, Prabhakar Vadlamani has the best answer for that.
