okay, this is the reading I am getting from my cards & my inturpitation of it. I am not a professional reader & am not saying that I can predict the future. I don't believe that tarot is about that. Rather it is more about seeing the energys around us& reading those. This is the gut feeling I am getting from my cards. I do my own style of spread.
First I do a grouping-3 cards
Queen of swords
Queen of cups
page of Swords-my take on this grouping-wise women not strangers of misery, be vigilent..
next card drawn----5 of cups--something will be lost but also kept
Last card drawn-9 of wands-what is left will have to be fought for to be kept
Yes I know it is vague, but keep in mind that we are looking at Samhain in a couple of months. The curtian between the realms is thinning as it must this time of year. I am sure the image will sharpen in time. FOr those of us who can find the strength, it might be time to focus our intent on those energies that we are all feeling 4 peace

Prairie, you didn't mention if the cards were upright or reversed. the position of the card itself is relevant, as is its relationship to the neighboring cards. An upright card will hold a slightly different meaning from the same card reversed. It is especially relevant with the swords and cups, As the swords upright mean over coming obsatcles and the cups upright mean acuisition and reversed swords mean defeat by those obstacles and reversed cups mean loss. Your last card is significant in the an upright wand will mean success in your fight and a reversed wand will mean that you are overcome, temporarily.

As in all other thngs of a divinitory nature, you must be comlete in all your details. The Christians have an excellent saying for this, "The Devil is IN the details". To ignore the small things such as positioning of the cards is inviting that which is overlooked to take a prominent role in determining the outcome. Essentially, you are still leaving things up to random chance and keeping yourself out of the loop by not taking in ALL of the available information and making it a part of your analysyis.

I'm not going to write about the what, but the how. You appear to be catching the fact that no Tarot card stands alone, but can have it's meaning shifted, enforced or minimized by the other cards in the spread. The vagueness is were your natural talents must be honed.
