Lately i have been getting the following symptoms;

- im tired pretty much all the time even though i get 8 hours sleep. and sometimes i feel so exhaused that i get upset and even cry because im just so tired.

- about 3-4 times a day i feel like ive just woken up from concussion or something because i feel dizzy and confused and dont really know what im doing. its like zoning out. and i get really distressed and anxious.

-i get a headache pretty much every day. its not a bad one ( i know what bad is, i get migraines) but its a thumper. kind of like a tension headache.

-when im doing my work, like writing in my workbook, and i look up at the board, my vision goes blurry and takes about 5 seconds to come good again.

im 17. and just really confused. i dont know whats going on. and if its serious or nothing at all. its really upsetting, especially when i get dizzy and zoned out.

I think you should certainly go and see your doctor again,or perhaps a different doctor.
Anaemia, I'm English before the spelling trolls jump in, is a lack of red cells in your blood. The red cells carry the oxygen round your body. If you don't have enough red cells you are obviously going to have less oxygen distributed. This would cause the symptoms you describe. So would a problem with your heart or lungs even in a 17 year old. If any treatment your doctor has prescribed is unhelpful seek another opinion.

I think your mom may be right and would seek a 2nd opinion. But anemia I DO know alot about. I have suffered from it for over 20 years due to a surgical procedure several years ago and have bouts of it periodically. One of the very BEST ways to get your anemia back up is to go to the health food store and to buy a bottle of ulsulphured molassas. Take 3 to 5 tablespoons in the beginning per day (1 with meals and 1 before you go to bed for example) but OBVIOUSLY not if you a diabetic or have any type of sugar problem whatsoever, it is pure sugar. The regular molassas in the stores will NOT work, you need the unsulphured kind from the health food store and it is not expensive at all. A good size bottle can cost $3.00 and under. I would either ask the doctor for more tests to be done and or seek the 2nd opinion of a different doctor. I understand that tiredness, believe me! I remember my Aunt being severely anemic and having a blood problem that was unrelated and he was very surprised I knew about the unsulphured molasssas, it is truly one of the very best sources of getting your anemia back on track! Good Luck! Kat! :)

Your mother should talk with the doctor. The doctor should tell her what the actual results of your blood test are and what the normal values are so taht your mother will understand how the doctor arrived at his conclusion. There is no harm done in questioning the results of blood tests. The more factual information you have, the better you are prepared to deal with whatever the problem might be. Whatever's going on here needs more medical follow-up.

i really feel for you i suffer with anemia i can sleep for days sometimes, if i was you I'd get some iron tablets and give the a go for a couple of weeks I'm sure things will improve although its a tiny little tablet you will be amazed the improvement it makes.if things are no better then go back to the GP but give it all little time first its not a magic tablet that's going to make to feel better after a day. good luck hope you feel better soon

Sorry that you're going through this. Have you asked another doctor for a second opinion? You might want to do that. You might want to ask if you have megolablastic anemia or another form of sever anemia. Have they giving you any vitamin b shots? Those do help people who have bad anemia. You really should get a second opinion just in case.

You should go to another doctor and get a second opinion. Self diagnosing online isn't good. Be sure to go to a different doctor though. good luck!

What the **** did the doctor say? tell your mom that she's not a doctor. Stop whining! Get a second opinion!
