Your question is slanted. I think you're right that many times diversity leads to challenges and conformity leads to boredom, but not always. Sometimes consistency and (stand back, now) uniformity are a good thing. The trick is to know when you need to break out of a pattern.

Diversity and challenges. Conformity is a form of complacency I don't like. For example, school is an institution of conformity. Where they teach you to accept the world as it is (mostly), to be awake during the day and sleep at night. They do teach you some interesting subjects. But other than that is a day care center. Once you're 18 schools don't give a damn about you, only your money. Why do you think public schools are free until the 12th grade?

A party that leads to waking up in strange places with strange aromas and wierd flavors that you cannot figure out but you know for certain that it was fun.
Give me the challenges everytime. I despise boredom.
