Well you can go to garage sales, flea markets, thrift stores, check out news papers, local online ads, and go shopping for things on sale. It's good to go with something you know is a good seller. Buy cheap baby clothes and resell it. You'll find some good stuff, the thing with buying things on sale is that the seasons over and it's best to sell stuff when it's the right season. In a year if you could afford it your business would take off. But there's other things you can keep your eyes open for also that are good sellers like video games, computer stuff, cameras etc. Look for free stuff, local ads online have stuff people just want to get rid of, post an ad yourself for free and ask for anything you are looking for, offer to help declutter their storage space or whatever. Ask friends and family too if they have things they would like to get rid of.
I have done this but it is tough, some good weeks and some not so good. There is some tips, I think they tell you on ebay, when to end your aution and stuff so people are available to bid and so on. Do some research and then you won't be learning as you go. Good luck!

i started off on ebay a number a years ago selling a few old things i had around the house.

my kids was all into video games and before long i started selling them.
i sell just games now and make a very good living from it as well as dvd's

i before buying in any stock would test the market.
see what sells watch a few items run out.

remember you have to make cash you have listing fee's and VAT on top of all sales, if you take pay pal as payment you have charges for that as well.

i would set a ebay page up and get the feedback up on it first, we all like to buy from someone with good feedback and star ratings.

what ever you decide i wish you luck.

but remember the market can move fast what sells today may be forgotten tomorrow so never over buy with stock

regards x kitti x

Are you asking how would you go about having a baby?lol
I have a friend who lives quite near to me, I noticed recently that he was doing a lot of parcel deliveries to our local post office, I asked what he was up to and he told me he was right into the eBay thing.
He visits all the car boot sales in the area at the weekend, buys loads of stuff and sells it all on eBay, he started spending about £50 over each weekend and tells me he doubled that in sales!
He now spends £150 over a weekend and usually doubles that.
I thought about having a go myself, I spent a bit of time looking on eBay to try and figure out what most folk were after buying, It seemed to me there is a lot of call for collectable items.
I didn't go for it in the end, I just couldn't be ar*ed, I'm very lazy like that. Just thought I would pass on the tip for what it's worth.
Happy hunting.

Sell stuff you don't use or need.

Set the 'starting price' at the minimium your will accept (for expensive items, a low starting price with a Reserve price is better)

Make sure you charge sufficient postage.

If you are selling an expensive item, watch out for SCAM artists (especially the 419 scams) = never respond to emails inviting you to sell outside ebay (and NEVER EVER click on LINKS in emails, even if you are expecting a 'auction end' email and even if it says it's from 'ebay.co.uk' etc)

Always wait for payment to clear befor sending goods, especially expensive items.

NB> It's almost impossible to buy elsewhere and sell on eBay at a profit ... although some people do manage it using 'Car Boot' sales and Charity Shops as the 'source' of their goods (buy low, sell high :-) )
