I am thinking of buying the Tetra Aquaart 60l aquarium kit. I know this is for tropical fish, but if I didn't use the heater would it be ok for goldfish etc? Can you feed goldfish tropical fish food?

that is fine, although if you use the heater your goldfish will grow quicker. yes you can give them tropical food but it is not recommended. goldfish food is better for them as it contains all the vitamins and nutrients that they need

Yes you can use it for a goldfish

you're thinking about getting a 16us gallon tank

But you can only put 1 goldfish in there, because of the size to grow to be, you will also have to upgrade your tank once the goldfish has outgrown it

you could put about 4 white cloud mountain minnows with him, but that's it

you can also put live plants like canubis, hornwort and anacris in there, they are coldwater plants

Also keep in mind that you will want to cycle your tank before getting a fish

And when you're already there don't forget to pick up a master test kit in liquid form, which includes ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and pH

And yes you can feed them tropical fish food.

hope that helps
Good luck

You can keep them but just one fancy goldfish in a tank that size. Make sure you get fancy goldfish(example:black moors) as comets and common ones get to big for tanks and are really pond fish. You should get goldfish food it is easy to get and around the same price as tropical food, which isn't really right for them.

Yes, as long as the temp isn't too cold, the goldfish will do fine on any good fish food. Look for a small catfish that will clean up too. Coolwater plants never hurt either.
