No what bugs me is that we are forced by law to have to wear a poor designed 2 point safty belt, in cars built like coke cans.

Then when I build my car safer, add a roll cage, and a 5 point safty belt, etc the cops says it's a race car and not legal on the street just cause it has a roll cage and 5 point belts.

It also bugs me that police, media, etc don't report, don't mention, etc the fact when someone dies in a car crash and was wearing a seat belt.

You alway hear "man dies in car crash, he wasn't wearing a seatbelt"

On the ones that dies and had a seat belt on they just say "man dies in car crash" They don't point out the the seat belt was on.

I was in a roll over car crash, in a toyota car.. I wasnt wearing my seat belt and thats the only reason I'm hear typing this now.

I was thrown out of the side window, before the car landed on it's roof the 3rd time..

On the third hit, the roof crushed in. Only about 12 inchs between bottom of door window opening and top of roof.

If I had been strapped in with my seat belt.. The roof would have crushed down on my head and broke my neck, crushed my skull, etc. Not to mention the wiper that bent and stuck through the windsheild at about face level.

Yes, the movie industry thinks we don't want to see people buckled up, so they don't buckle up. Of course, they aren't actually in traffic. When you see those crazy car chase scenes, the stunt men use a kind of seat belt that is very effective, and equally expensive. Twenty years ago they cost $1500. I'd hate to see what they cost today. So, even though we don't see them on the actors, the stuntmen are safe.

Yup. I've been an ER nurse and it makes me cringe, especially in the chase scenes. My friends are always throwing popcorn at me in the theaters when I point out the missing seatbelts in scenes. : )

I just wonder where the actor cops are to ticket them for no seat belts.
