Im not a Cena fan nor a hater, but i do think that the whole 5 moves of doom arguement is overrated considering that's how most matches are booked. A wrestling match is made up of the heel cheating and dictating the proceedings. Then the face makes a come back so to say that is bs in my opinion. Even my favorite wrestler had these so called moves of doom and he is consided the best technical wrestler of all time in Bret Hart. Also its not about having the most moves its about telling a story in the ring and if you ask me Cena is quite good at that. People complain that he has only 5 moves but most of the greats have limited movesets. Its about making the moves count, Some wrestlers can do all the moves in the world but can't make them mean anything. I think the problem with Cena is sometimes he can be very sloppy in the ring. Cena isn't the best in the world but he doesn't deserve all of this criticism from fans. Especially when people are chanting "die Cena die".

Also people swear of wrestling everytime he retains but lets be honest all the WWE belt is a prop the only time a title has been very prestigest in my eyes was in the 80's when the NWA title was defended all over the world and cities would bid to hold a world title match.

I agree. I think alot of the Cena hate is based on poor booking and storyline development (which is not his fault) but people notice a limited moveset and try to use that to discredit.

By the way I agree about the NWA world title

Before I begin, I want to say that I don't have any special emotions for Cena.

As for what you're saying, I totally agree. Professional wrestling has never been about how many moves you could pull off. If it was, Dean Malenko, Chris Benoit, Chavo and Eddie Guerrero, Chris Kanyon, Bret and Owen Hart, and "Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig would have been passing the top titles back and forth throughout their respective careers. Goldberg, Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior, and Lex Lugar never would have made it past the opening match. Sting, Steve Austin, and The Rock would be eternal midcarders.

I recently watched the most recent Royal Rumble. John Cena and Umaga's match was very exciting! It didn't matter that Cena didn't throw a dragon suplex or a satellite octopus hold. It was about a man going up against an impossible goal and doing everything he could to achieve that goal.

I agree that Cena could tighten up his ring skills. His leg drop and fisherman's suplex looks a bit goofy.

By the way, Bret Hart was the first wrestler I ever shook hands with. He's been my favorite wrestler since I was in middle school in 1990 or 1990.

I'am not a Cena hater.. But hes abit of a tool I'am propley the biggest wwe fan on this Tread and over the years over watching John cena i've learnt a few things..

#1 He follows the fashion, First he was a rapper.. Now for over a year hes never said a word about rap since now he thinks hes a marine Only because he was in the movie 'The marine' If John really was a marine He wouldn't be any better than any other merines, Well infact he would be worse since it takes over 5 years to be come a marine and a marine dosen't wrestle he Uses wepons not fist and chairs Marines use guns.

And really john cena Has lied Before too..
In a E interview he said he was afraid of hights and will never go higher than 2 meters off the ground.. When John has been in ladder matches and hell in a cells and A tlc match.

Peace out

Most of the fans hate the character, but don't know how to express themselves, so they ***** about everything else while never pointing out the real issue. To me, the wrestler's gimmick plays just as much a part of whether I will cheer him as does his in-ring ability, at least for people in current WWE. I don't like the John Cena character, and I don't think the man himself is worthy of a two-year reign, so I won't cheer for him. Simple as that.

Some people do act retarded, though, and you have that with every wrestler, it's just that most of them don't hold the world title longer than Bret Hart and Steve Austin. As far as the story-telling thing goes, let's agree to disagree (about Cena being a good ring psychologist, that is. If he were, he would be cheered, that much is for sure).

People can chant whatever they want to champions they want to see lose, it makes life more interesting.

in case anyone else didn't notice wrestlers usually use the same series of moves to end a match e.g. cena does a clothesline or shoulder block picks his opponent up slams them on the ground 5 knuckle shuffle then goes for the fu which mostly gets countered or stfu. When benoit was alive he did 3 german suplexes dragged his thumb across his throat then goes for the diving headbutt. My opinion of the cena h8 from fans isn't much but to every cena hater who reads this remember it's not his fault if he's been the champ 4 2 long cus wrestlings scripted for the wrestlers i hate i hate them for their storylines in the ring as real people i respect them and do not wish anyone (that includes chavo and edge) any death threats

I really liked Cena when he was a heel. Now that the powers that be in WWE have chosen to use him as a face I choose to jeer instead of cheer. Hopefully the McMahons will see the potential in him as a heel soon, although I think they will play this current persona for as long as it puts butts in seats.

I love Cena.I don't know why people BOO him.He doesn't deserve it.You would think they would cheer for Cena instead of Randy Orton. What the hell was up with that? He's supposed to be hated, and they were up there loving him,for some odd reason.I guess it just depends on who is Cena's opponent.
