Your daughter must be very warm blooded. Dress her lightly for bed and keep a fan on her and see if that keeps her more comfortable.

I had the exact same problem when my son was only a few weeks old! He would wake up wet in his back from sweat. I too turned down the heat but that did not work because then his hands and feet were very cold. I did some research on this and it turns out that this is related to the babies hormones. My friend had the same problem with her son and her doctor confirmed that this is related to hormone levels in the baby. It will go away on its own. Just make sure to use 100% cotton clothes and comforter. Polyester or fiberfill only makes it worse.

My son was and still is the same. It is so annoying as I have to wash the sheets heaps more often. I don't know what it is from but my hubby also gets night sweats sometimes.
Make sure you are not overheating her by too much clothing or blankets and try to keep a fan going near by or window open to circulate air.
I have noticed my son's sweats getting better as he is getting older (he is 2.5yrs now) but he does still get them I have no idea why but doctor says it is fine and nothing to worry about.
Good luck

if your baby is a newborn you need to call your primary care doctor and let them know. babies who are this young should NOT be sweating like this.
in fact, if your baby is sweating so profusely that you think it is weird you should always tell your doctor- it could be a sign of an underlying condition or illness. though, it is the summer and maybe your child is just sweatier than average. don't get worried, but check with your doctor as soon as you can.
good luck.

well, my bf sweats a lot, even when he is simply sitting down using the computer... i think that some people just sweat more. i remember getting really really hot before i fell asleep when i was little, and when i woke up, i was all sticky and sweaty, so i think it is normal. if it is worrying you, call a advice nurse or something :)

Maybe she has too many clothes on, or too many blankets.
I can't think of what else would cause it, since sweating is usually a body's response to being overheated.

many babies sweat profusely because of all the intake of fluids. If your baby is on a high (or all) fluid diet, she will probably sweat to prevent water retention and diarrhea.

Are you dressing her too warmly or putting her under a too-heavy blanket?
