This question is rather tricky, however you might get used to it along with time, so dont worry. Just do more practices about this question.
This is how to handle it:
(x²-6x+9) / (x-3)
= (x²-3x -3x+9) / (x-3)
= (x*(x-3) -3* (x-3)) / (x-3)
= (x-3) * (x-3) / (x-3) -- Distributive property: a * (b + c) = a * b + a * c.
= x - 3

Answer: x-3

(x^2-6x+9) is equal to (x-3)^2.
therefore your equation would yield x-3
this is true for all values of x except for x=3
