When it dresses up like Johnny Depp and ask me a question.
Trust is never deceiving.
People are.
You are confusing honesty with trust.
They are both essential to a strong relationship but that are not the same thing and one can cover for the other in some cases. In other cases you have to care more than trust or be honest.

..........At any given moment. That's why we find it so hard to trust sometimes. Once you've been deceived, it's a gamble that everyone isn't willing to take again. Putting your trust and everything you have into someone, only to find it ill-spent, is a very hard pill to swallow. From that point on, we begin to grow an outer shell that just gets thicker and thicker with every disappointment. Eventually, that shell can't be cracked, and the person realizes that they have been transformed into a person that they no longer recognize.

It is not trust that becomes deceiving.
It is our own expectations that surpass the other persons ability to be trustworthy.
