The first LCD monitors did have a shorter lifespan than CRT monitors due to the relatively short lifespan of the backlights in the LCD panel.

Current designs have increased the design life of the backlights so that they are equivalent to the design life of a CRT.

On top of that there is the question of the design life of the rest of the monitor, based on the overrating and quality of the components used. But again, that is not a difference between CRTs and LCDs.

no LCD monitors do not have a life span.u can use LCD monitors the way u use CRT monitors but just don't keep the display on for to long(like 5 to 10 hrs at a stretch) because LCD monitors generate a lot of heat.so its better to just give a break from time to time for a better performance.

no .thats totally doesnt make any sense. sorry to say this. LCD is much more better compared to CRT because of its quality chips which has been used in it.It can for ever.Its just how well you take care of it. The better you take care the longer the life span.Same goes to CRT monitors 2.
