I sold a $500 guitar on eBay, and the winning bidder won't pay. They don't communicate at all. I can file an unpaid item dispute, but I want to finish the transaction, not be reimbursed for the measly 10 dollars it cost to list. It took me a long time to sell that guitar, and I want my money. Isn't clicking "Bid" a legally binding contract??? I don't want to relist. I want to squeeze $500 out of this person so I can get rid of the damn guitar!!!

While E-Bay is a legally binding contract, if the bidder will not pay for an item they bid on, is best just of file file the unpaid item dispute and list the guitar again for auction.

Even if the bidder is in your home state, you have to pay Court filing fees and be able to prove you case, win a Judgment and even then, if they don't readily pay you have to try to find out what assets they own and pursue them, which will require a lawyer and more expenses to you that you may or may not ever to be collect on.

If you haven't shipped it as yet, then I'd suggest you get reimbursed the ten bucks and post it again. Yes, clicking "Bid" is a legally binding contract, but the only way you can force them to pay is to file a lawsuit, which is going to cost you $50-100 at least, and then probably more for enforcement if the person is in a different state. It will be much less hassle to sell it to someone else.

You really can't make anyone pay for it unless they have the merchandise in their possession. Since you are having a hard time selling it on ebay, why not try selling it by advertising it in the newspaper classifieds? Or go to your local music store and try selling it there or advertising it in the store. There are more places than just eBay to sell things.

Ask to ebay support team, they are pretty quick to answer.
I had an issue earlier and they contacted me less than 1 hours after I sent them a letter

I'm not sure that they can make you. But if you did in fact buy it I think people should just be honest and right and buy it or get in touch with the seller and tell them your situation.

If you can't just resell it.

You cannot force them to pay,

All you can do is report them to E-Bay and have E-bay close their account.
