E. All of the above.

Our surroundings keep us from denying our true complete pride.

Also, it's human nature to doubt our opinions and expand on them...

We have developed habit to find answers to our questions in the past and we enjoy to remain in the past singing praises for our glorious past. Hence our answers become irrelevant. First of all we ought to agree that ours was never 'a nation' as it was handed over to us by the foreign rulers. It is really painful to accept this hard fact. We were a collection of nations which had many things in common and yet many things uncommon which were as foreign as anything could be. Remember we propagate: Unity in Diversity. Neither the parents nor the teachers are to blame for the failure to develop a common consensus on true national pride. Yes, I strongly believe that our leadership and governance are the two most important key factors which have to be held responsible for not developing true national pride. Our leadership has completely failed to show the right path.

Its a good question. Every Indian is responsible for this failure, because, how many are there to take care of their children on a continuous basis and teaching the moral values and our great mythological stories to them. After a few years, no kid is available to tell about Ramayan, Mahabharat and other stories & even about our freedom fight also. First of all, we have to take self responsibility in each and every thing and we have to allot some time to our kids. This is the begining stage, similarly, educational inistitutions has to change thier teaching modules and they have to include the importance of our graet history and how we have to forward the same to our future generation. Socalled political persons have to change their mind set. Our govt. laws also to be modifed accordingly. Finally, we need a special drive on this and every indian has to participate in this.

For centuries India was a geographic term and had no notion of a nationality.Only during the British Raj the entire subcontinent came under one flag. Then only the sense of 'nationalism' developed.
The freedom movement fanned the fire of national spirit. We were told about our rich heritage and we wanted to drive the British who killed our national industries.Mahatma Gandhi launched the satyagraha movement and let Indians boyct foreign goods., foreign educational system, etc.
Unfortunately the bloody birth of our independent nation doused the fire of national spirit and our passion for revenge was at top mast. What should have been forgotten as a bad dream after sometime. was constantly reminded by opposition to gain political mileage.
Thanks to the elections. our nationlism was lost to regionalism. Now national parties are at the mercy of regional parties!
Now. as never before, time has come to reshape our national spirit compatible with regionalistic aspirations.

The answer is very simple... that is due to influence of our latest medias like TV and Cinema only. It is influencing very fast. Now all teenagers are to have guide with their parents and teachers. Parents want to know the friends of their children and where they are going in the evening time and leisure times. We want to have give them better educations and better health. And we want to know that what are the needs of their studies and entertainment also.

In the UK (previously Great Britain) we used to have a hugh national pride.

However kids are now taught in schools that it is wrong to be proud of their country. In fact that is one of the reasons we have so many yobs on the streets , its because they have no self esteem left and no respect!

This is an easy one. Today's leaders and educators are all about the money and power. The forefathers are all gone. Politicians are restructuring the constitution and filling it with loop holes.
We need patriotism back in government, We need God and the pledge of alligeance back in the schools. We need to vote for America and not personal gain. We need to kick butt of anyone who threats the American way of life.

Democracy emphacizes the importance of the individual.
The extreme excludes any thought of the good of the whole.
The FEEL of the times is : Selfishness and our society reeks of it.
It's ok to take and not give
I alone create my own world
You owe me and I have no
responsibility
We're too focused on pleasure and and OUR RIGHTS to teach our children integrity and what they OWE to this country. The importance of national pride and freedom will be recognized when we loose it.

Excuse me for using caps but want to
be profound on some points.

blessings.........

who says we don't have national pride ? But our system, leadership, general moral of people, mentality did not allow them to sine. A revolution is required from the bottom of society.

I would say all of the above.

Also another factor would be that most people do not have the mentality to do something to make the change.

Most people still ask what did country give me rather than what can I give my country.
