Balikbayan (aka Alisbayan) Boxes always interests me… when I see these boxes in any airport in the world I know there’s a Pinoy somewhere in that city/country…Of course, there is the Malaysian equivalent for balikbayan. It’s called balik kampung, or going back to the village (hometown). But the Malaysians do not spread themselves as widely all over the world to create the numbers necessary to spawn an industry like balikbayan boxes. But as for sending from there to Main Land, I am not sure there is a source. Here are some sites that my help you!

Yes, there is such thing as an "Alis Bayan" box. You could find them at National Bookstores. It's supposed to be used by Filipinos leaving the country (therefore the term "alis bayan"), in contrast to those coming back to the Philippines (therefore "balik bayan").

You really made me laugh.....what a q...lol...
anyways, my answer is yes...kaya lang..sanay na ang mga pinoy sa mga "pasalubong or balikbayan box"...not a tradition though....although there are ways to do the opposite"alis bayan boxes"...which i always do lalo na kung may mga kaibigan ako or kamag-anak na requesting na padalhan sila ng 'bagoong (anchovy sauce) or tuyo (dried fish)...foods that they missed dito sa pilipinas. And i have a cousin who is now based in Illinois, but she just love the taste of Purefoods corned beef so everytime she calls, i send her boxes. Other than that, wala na.
