A cup means one inch larger than the rib cage, B = 2", C = 3", D = 4" and DD = 5". The number is essentially the size of the rib cage, but it's a little more complex than that. 97% of women have a C cup or less, with 34-36 B and 34-36 C being the most common. A woman with a 36B bra would wear a size 38 sweater (36" + 2" = 38").

The way they determine the cup size is by measuring around the broadest part of the breast and then measuring across the top of the chest (about armpit high)
The measurement at the top of the chest is the band size (add 1 if it's an odd #) the difference in inches determines the cup. ie: if band measurement is 34 and your chest measurement is 36 than your cup size is B if it's 38 it's D and so on... that's why a bigger framed person could have a 38 inch chest & have a B cup while a smaller framed person could have a 38 inch chest and have D's.

Basically each cup size is exactly one inch larger than the previous cup size. aa = 1 inch a=2inch b=3inch c=4inch d=5inch dd=6inch e=7inch etc etc etc.
To find the cup size of an individual you first measure just underneath the bust around their bodies. I'll use myself as a guide. I am 38inches there. Then we measure around the breasts and back inline with the nipple here i am a 45. Then we minus the first measurement from the second.. so in my case 45-38inches. This leaves us with 7 inches.. so my cup would be an e cup. That is how you calculate bust measurements.
I hope this helped you out. :)

The A cups are the small, flat ones. C's are perfect size, anything D or higher are too much unless you're into boobie sex. What's more important are nipple sizes, shapes, and colors! A properly sized nipple with just the right shape and color can make ANY size boob look fantastic!

Not if they are on a smaller band. Cup size is proportionate to the band size so C/D cups on a 30 band have the same cup volume as A/B cups on a 34 band, just on a smaller ribcage.

The cup size is the actual size of the breasts. The number (like 36B) means how many inches you are around. "A" cups are the smallest. "DD" (Double Ds) are pretty darn big, but they go even bigger than that. Get it? Got it? Good!! :)

A is small, then it goes B, C, and on up. That's as complicated as it gets. You just have to find the cup that fits you best by trying bras on.

A cup isn't very much. C cup is just about right. They're all fun.

I think you just like the word Breast. Why is it in all caps??

Why don't you ask this same question to someone in Victoria's Secret. I'm sure that it will go over very well for you Bruce.
