I would LOVE to be a writer. Don't ask me why, but every time I just think of writing I get this happy feeling, as if anything is possible. And in writing, it is.

What about you? Do you like to write? And if you do, do you want to make a career of it?

Oh yes. Okino, Kristennn and Gwenevere really said what I could say for myself.

I have really loved to write ever since I understood why I liked talking so much about my dreams (usually very interesting, weird, suspenseful). Plus, I just realized how fast and constant my imagination works. It's constantly moving and working ahead of me. My friends don't really understand it and I get frustrated because I can never get it on the page fast enough.

I enjoy writing things that come to mind very much. I guess it comes with being a bookworm. I get caught up when I rad too.

As for making a career out of writing, that would be a dream. I do think it would be a dream come true if I could make a good chunck of money out of writing, but I know it takes a lot of talent. I would make tons of money if I was paid by effort, but I can't usually get a full story down before I start with a new one. I don't stop writing though. I, like you, just get so happy when I get a new idea and write whatever comes to mind (I've got notebooks and notebooks of little things that I love quickly jotting down. Some are actually a full start to a novel. If only I could keep it going. I will eventually.) I feel like I could tell my mind to the world through my writing someday.

So that's when I decided to pressure myself into finishing a novel. I found out about the 3-Day Novel Contest. It takes place over Labor Day weekend.

My point is, is that I know it's a long shot to think I can make a living off writing, and/or be a bestseller, but I'm not giving up on my learning and growing so I can get my writing noticed. If writing doesn't become my career/job I'll have other options such as photography, something to do with animals like a vet, or something to do with others' writing (i.e. a literary agent, editor, etc.)

I'm glad some feel the way I do though we're mostly all in the dark. KEEP IT UP GUYS! We're all behind each other, keeping one another dreaming! Happy writing.

♥ Peace

I've wanted to be a writer for a while now. I've always been told I was a good writer, and I've even won awards. I'm still in high school and English is probably my favorite class. When we are assigned a writing project, I am probably the only one who is excited about it. Right now my goal is to study creative writing and possibly journalism at NYU. It's my dream to write a bestseller. I've always had a love for mysteries, and teen fiction books, coming of age if you will, two complete opposites. If I was ever given the chance to write one and publish it, I'd be in heaven. Right now, I'm actually looking into interning at Seventeen Magazine. This way, If my dream as an author doesn't become reality, I'd always have a journalistic job to fall back on. Good luck with your writing, and I hope it takes you far in life.

I think my name kind of spoils my answer. Yeah, I want to be a writer! I would *love* to do it for the rest of my life, but I guess I'll have to see what the future holds. I would love to make a career out of it, but it might be hard. Still, you're right. Anything is possible with writing.

I want to be a teen fiction writer (mostly romance). How about you?

Oh, before I forget, have a star!

I raise my hand.

I do like to write, but I don't know about a career. It's difficult to survive on just writing books, because to be honest, you're competing with tons of other authors whose books could be just as good as, or better than, yours. It would, and will, just be my hobby.

I know what you mean when you say anything is possible in writing. I love it. One of the only long term goals I have set for myself is to get a book published. I'd love to do that.

OH YES. My life revolves around writing right now. And I do feel as if I can do anything with simple wordplay. I do want to be a writer for the rest of my life. It is the greatest possible way to express myself.

I'm 12. Comment on my work

I want to write too! Ever since before I could even spell, when I was 2 or 3 i'd get my mom to write down what I told her and she'd write my story with me saying what to write. I never have any ideas though....so sad. Still thinking of them! I want to be one of those people who go to work, have a good job, and write for fun. Then one day make it famous lol.

Writing is wonderfull. A way to express yourself freely. And so long as you write, then hey, you are a writer. Doesn't matter if you never show it to anyone or if you are published and make millions, write what you like and have fun doing it.

Me, I like to write fantasy short stories and poems. Career, meh, if it happens, nice. If not, that's good too. It's all for fun.
