A roommate from a previous address called, said someone called and asked if I will be appearing or sending an attorney. They didn't say what court, time, room, judge, etc., nor what company/creditor they represent.

I have not received any kind of summons that I know of.

I live in Los Angeles; the caller was in the 714 area code. Will the suit be heard in my area or theirs? What court would be in the 714 area code?

Thank you for any assistance.

Hon, unless you were summoned to appear in court by a judge, you are not needed there and it would be best if you did not attend the court session in case you were to later be called up to be a witness in the case.

If they're seeking you at your old address, it's probably in the court for that address. If you didn't get served, it's likely that they can't expect you, because a server has to prove service. If it was a jury summons, they wouldn't call and you would have had to return a form. You can call the courthouse and ask.
