So one of my guppies gave birth to her first batch of babies....Omg where there a lot...haha...anyways, I was wondering how long it would take for the babies to be able to swim with the adults without getting attacked/eaten. They were born only 3 days ago (almost 4). Thanks :]

Congrats

The general rule is, when they're bigger then the biggest fish mouth
If you keep them in a breeder that can be about 4-6 weeks

If you keep them in a separate breeding tank, they grow much faster and it would only be 4 weeks

Or your other choice would have been to leave them in the main tank with lots of live plants like anubis for the bottom and water sprite as floating ones

hope that helps
good luck

My first litter in my tank I kept in the Nursery net for almost two months, now however I have my tank heavily planted (real plants) and the babies hide in the leaves about half get eaten, but they seem to join the rest of the herd after a month or so.

be sure to powderize some flake food for them and dip a fork in the water then into the powder then back into the water to disperse enough tiny food for the babies.
