"While My Guitar Gently Weeps" is a rock song by The Beatles from the double album The Beatles (also known as The White Album).
It was written by George Harrison, who originally performed it with a solo acoustic guitar and an organ; a demo version, longer than the officially released version, can be heard on the Anthology 3 album and in reworked form on the Love album. Eric Clapton played lead guitar on the album version of the song with a Gibson Les Paul guitar. On The Concert for Bangladesh, he performed it on a Gibson Super 400 hollowbody guitar, and later acknowledged that a solid-body guitar would have been more appropriate.

2 mistakes above. Klaus Voorman is a bass player , not lead guitarist and he did not play on any beatle songs but he did play with George solo. And Eric Clapton did not play on 'The End" , the duelling guitars were George,Paul and John.
Sorry this does not answer your question , but information should be correct.

Well, Prince played this song at the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony a few years back but that's probably not him. As some people have pointed out, it was Eric Clapton who played the lead on The Beatles recording that appeared on the White Album. How many also know that he played on "The End", which appeared on Abbey Road?

I believe that would have been George Harrison, of past Beatles fame. The only other artist I know who has cover this song was Jeff Healey.
