Okay I am annoyed at the fact people are called racist for the littlest things nowadays. I mean if i see someone with Asian eyes and I say they look Asian because of their eyes I become a racist. If I say someone is shaped like a black girl because of maybe the size of her buns or the structure of her back I become racist. How is that racist? Some people look black. Some people look white. Some look Asian. I am not putting any race down. Yes, they are generalizations but still. If i saw a black person with blue eyes and light curly hair the person most likely has a european ancestor or parent. Do you get what i am saying?

I understand what you're saying but I also see the other side of it. Race is a touchy subject and a person's racial identity can be even more of a touchy subject, depending on how they identify themselves. If you're telling someone that they look white, black, or Asian, perhaps they feel that you are judging them. Even if you're simply making an observation and not meaning to judge them, it may sound offensive. It's like if you go up to someone and say "you look short" or "you look like you weigh 200lbs" - it may simply be an observation on your part, and the observation may very well be true, but many people would still consider the comment to be poor manners and therefore, offensive. Why not stop at "you have blue eyes and curly hair"? Why move on to assumptions of ancestry, heritage, or race?

You asked how these comments could be considered racist. Perhaps it's because you're making an assumption about race that is offending someone. I hope I answered your question

I do get what you are saying, yet in this day and age I am shocked.. no lets say saddened that the only way that we are able to describe a person is by the size of bootie, color of skin. Look at us! None of the people that surround you can claim to have originated here, why does this become more of an issue? It should be less. Some of our family's came on their own free will, others were slaves, most were indentured servants. Personally I am Irish and German, hell lets all declare our race and stop the myths!!!! Read the History books and learn what not to do...........

Yep. Some folks are way too sensitive about thier heratage. We all are what we are, and usualy we look like what we com from. And How else are we supposed to describe someone's looks other that saying they look asian, or black or Indian, or whatever. I look caucasian/english/irish because that is my genetic stock. So what. It doesnt bother me if people say I have blue eyes, or freckles. I do. I dont feel slandered if people make jokes about drunken irishmen, or whatever. everybodys race has something jokeworthy about it, and everybodys race has something to be proud of. We are what we are, we didnt ask to be born one thing or another, we just were, for some karmic rerason, perhaps, to see first hand how it feels to be a certain kind of person. or maybe its not even that complicated. We should all just try to be the best PERSON we can be, and not worry about what we look like. And enjoy the differences in ourselves and try to learn something about other people as well as ourselves. We are all HUMANS, so lets get over being senitive about what our ancestors did.

tell me about it! i just asked a question about this, like, when ever you bring up anything revolving race, people immediately call you a racist. with out even thinking of the meaning of the word. a racist is someone who doesn't like an entire race, only because they are that race, like for example if i were to hate black people only because there black, then I'm a racist. but if a state that most black people come from an at risk community and are poor, i am not racist, although most people who call me one. or if someone asks me if i think a black woman is hot, and i say no, i don't really find black woman attractive, they'll call me a racist.. even though I'm not. just because i don't find them attractive doesn't mean i don't like them cuz there black you know, just like i don't find red heads attractive, i mean i still have red headed friends. a lot of people are hatemongers these days and seem to have forgotten what racist actually means

I have friends of all races, and I must say that I didn't focus on their race at first. Their personality and friendship were the most important thing first. Later I got to know more about their families and personal life. I know some people are very picky about the differences between us, but that is their problem, not ours.

Do you vocalize your opinions on people's looks that much? People scream racist these days like the girls in the witch-hunting days screamed witch. It's stupid and people need to get a grip on reality and stop screaming every time something happens that offends them. You're not racist...just maybe too vocal?

I don't think that that is racist, but some times people are so proud of what they are and they don't like when people make mistakes about their culture or race.

The only people who have problems like that are non whites cause white people dont give a **** about things that the true ( non white ) racists complain and want to turn everything into a racist issue. End result; **** THEM, THEY SUCK.

So true. People so quick to yell "racist". Everybody so sensitive these days. I think you'll be fine if you don't cross "the line" (which is pretty blurred nowadays).
