Depends what part of New Zealand you want to live in.

Auckland is the most expensive place to buy or rent a house. Renting is about half the price of buying.

Average wage is $35,000 NZD. Average rental for a 3 bed house in Auckland is $400 per week. Groceries per person averages $75-$100 per week. Electricity average is $150 per month per house. Phone is $45 per month plus internet plus cell phone.

Most of us survive reasonably well in NZ. It is a land of opportunity if you have a positive attitude and a good work ethic.

I love New Zealand. Have travelled to many other countries and enjoyed the visit, but choose to live in New Zealand.
