but they're ok with Giambi after he "apologized"
Both are crooks and both put up monster numbers using steroids AT THE SAME PERIOD OF TIME and Giambi deserves as much negative press as Bonds in my opinion...I can't believe people are sympathetic to Giambi and give him the benefit of the doubt...its ridiculous!
They say "he took them when they weren't banned or tested for or weren't illegal"...well I agree that he and Bonds weren't the only one but he is one of the bigger stars in the mid to late 90s and early 2000s and deserves as much crap that bonds gets. most of the people are "Bonds took steroids, PERIOD" but yet they give out excuse after excuse for Giambi!
And another excuse i hear all the time is "oh Giambi didn't break any records so im ok"...Wtf??? thats unacceptable for me...isnt he like top 75 home run hitters of all time or something?
So just because Giambi didn't break any records, people are ok with him???

I completely agree with what you said
Bonds cheated...I fully agree with that
what im shocked about is that GIAMBI isn't getting that kind of attention like Bonds...Giambi isn't the best teammate in the world either and im still wondering how people could've forgiven that fool so quickly??

I won't forgive Bonds because:
He is a poor excuse for a human being
He plays the race card when the man he was chasing was also black.
Just because he never failed a test, doesn't mean he's innocent. Al Capone was never convicted of murder. You gonna tell me he's innocent too?
Bonds goes to a hospital in Pittsburgh while with the Pirates(Team trip, guess they forced him to go) and won't sign autographs for the sick and terminally kids. How much lower can you get than that?
His trainer, Greg "Balco" Anderson admitted in a secretly taped conversation he gave Bonds steroids. Whether admissible evidence or not, it still proves he was on it.
Read "Game of Shadows"
Edit: Giambi was originally booed in his own ballpark, has that happened to Bonds in SF? Giambi has come clean and APOLOGIZED, more than once, for his actions. When has Bonds ever come clean and apologized for ANYTHING? His massive ego, only matched by his expanded skull, won't allow it. That's the difference between the two.

I think they are both shameful, and I don't think Giambi should get a free pass just because he didn't break records. It's also understandable that Bonds would get more attention because he's the more important player.
Regardless of records, the punishments, or lack thereof, should be applied consistently. I disagree with the amnesty program, but if Bonds comes clean like Giambi then he should be treated the same way.

First - people tend to forgive people that apologize - Baroid is too arrogant to do this
Two - Giambi - did come clean, did apologize and didn't break records even while cheating - so he gets little attention, that is really what people are saying
Third - Fay Vincent made them against the rules - so Baroid did cheat and they were against the rules
And no, it is not a race thing, I feel the same about Little Mac
Baroid is a cheater, liar, jerk and disgusting

Neifi Perez and Guillermo Mota are getting free passes too!
People hate Bonds. People have always hated Bonds. He's doesn't engender warm sentiments. People also hated Ted Williams for the majority of his career. Williams would routinely spit at fans, give them the finger, not hustle. It's been documented Babe Ruth went into the stands to fight with spectators. Ty Cobb was a racist. Steve Howe was a drug addict. Mickey Mantle was an alcoholic. In the end who really cares?
I love baseball, but it's only a sport and these men are simply athletes, entertainers. If people are going to express such passionate feelings society would be better served if they were channeled into addressing something that truly mattered.
Okay, that's it for now. I'll get off my soapbox. :-)

Barry Bunds would probably still be "unforgiven" for a massive amount of homers in his time.
Giambi didn't do a whole lot even when juiced.
Who knows, maybe it is a double standard but at least Giambi came clean.

How can taking steroids be called cheating if it destroys your performance instead of enhancing it??
Please prove all of the people here wrong with solid proof or a medical study result showing that taking "x" amount of steroidal medication via transdermal application for "y" amount of time will equal outrageous amounts of HR's hit and no-hitters/perfect games thrown.....
That's what people think they know about all of the professional baseball players that have taken steroids. They don't know squat because it's never been proven or tested by an independent laboratory.
I take steroids for chronic back inflammation as well as for asthma. When I play any type of organized sports, I'm not able to hit tape measure HR's or cannot hit home plate from left field, and I've taken steroidal medication much longer than any of those baseball players.
Taking drugs is bad, but if they can't help you perform on a professional level, who cares? It's their bodies getting harmed, and not yours.....

People won't forgive Barry Bonds because he refuses to acknowledge what everyone else already knows...that he cheated. Jason Giambi was wrong, but he was man enough to admit what he had done.

Giambi is innocent! Focus on Bonds, he is the one who tainted the record.

this may be beside the point: aaron's nothing but sour grapes over bonds' accomplishment. who knows aaron also duped in his time? it could even be worse because duping laws then were not as stringent as today. eat your heart out, aaron! move over! you are nothing but a history now! shooo!
