Sorry, but I think our definitions of "serious" movies are going to be really different. I thought THE MATRIX was entertaining, but SERIOUS???

Check out the previews for some of these fall films, for some 'serious' stuff that's really going to tax your brain cells: VANTAGE POINT, LIONS FOR LAMBS, MICHAEL CLAYTON, THE KINGDOM, IN THE VALLEY OF ELAH, THE NINES, RIGHT AT YOUR DOOR, THINGS WE LOST IN THE FIRE, RENDITION and RESERVATION ROAD.

Producers are generally going to make movies that they believe will make money. On average the movies that make you think, or you have to think to understand them don't make that much money. The Matrix was an exception because it had so much action and new special effects. A producer is most likely not going to take the risk on making a movie that has a bigger chance of failing.

What you mean is a serious action flick that'll jam our senses with mind altering special effects and a setting related to reality. All I know is Will Farrel needs to give us a break...unless he plays a steriod addicted cop in a movie about police brutality in South Central L.A. (which we would guess is called Rodney) hm... I should be helping to edit scrips, I swear.

It's because noone in hollywood has any original ideas anymore... It's all remakes and sequils.... And movies that are supposed to be scary, but aren't... If you want to see some wonderful films then tune into AMC, or TCM.
