If you trim it... it might not itch if you do not cut it too short. If you cut it short, you might want to use cornstarch powder or talcum powder or anything that will counter the itching. ©

I am assuming that you will just trim it short and not shave completely. Anyway, for the two cases, there are always possibilities of itching... so be prepared for it. Somehow, it is more aesthetic to trim it rather than let it be natural. But be aware of the aftereffects: itching and redness.

I will tell you from personal experience. Trim the pubes down as short as you want. It will itch if you shave the pubes not if you trim. I keep mine trimmed to quarter inch and the sac shaved. No itching in years and a lot of young women seem to like things clean and trimmed or neat looking rather than the caveman look.
Play safe if you must, but it is best if you wait.

Natural hair is tapered at the end from normal wear, which feels soft and silky. When you cut the hair, it is blunt, which can be prickly and uncomfortable, especially if it is short like a wire brush. This can cause itching in both partners. So if you feel you must trim (you really do not need to!), trim only a little, so the hair is long enough to fold over and not poke your skin or hers. Natural hair is silky and sensuous, much to be preferred.

Trim it up. A good idea. Completely shave, bad idea. Then, you'll get stubble when it grows back and it'll itch. Keep it nice and tidy for your girlfriend. She probably does the same for you.

If you don't trim too close, it won't itch very much. It's nice to keep them trimmed if you're expecting some oral action down there.
