that people who leave disgusting, low life, and/or ignorant remarks to someone's question usually don't have the GUTS to have an email or IM available? My friend just asked a question and some idi*t said something awful to her, but of course their profile has NO information at all ... easy to open your mouth when you can hide behind a computer isn't it??

Coachotis ~ Thanks for the "right on" brother! =)

Carolestream ~ Well said ...

Craig ~ That is my whole point. You have your info available. It's the people who don't that bug. Of course, we all would agree with you for the most part, but when people get totally nasty for no reason whatsoever ... they shouldn't be here ... that's not the point of Q & A.

Jowd ~ The "normal" ones aren't a problem. It's only the gutless people who open their mouths. You have your email available so what is your point exactly? If you're brave enough to put someone down ... be brave enough to leave contact info. Period!

Thanks for the 100% Steven ...

And I'm right there with ya on the "Dukes" Lolita! lol

And thanks to those who agreed or had something positive to say!

Hi, sweetie... I agree, but there is another side to it.

When I post a question/comment on Answers, I already know that I am opening it up to a HUGE range of personalities.

I know there are many people who have negative attitudes. I know that not everyone has a well-developed sense of humor. I know there are very young people who post whatever comes into their heads for an answer.

So, I decide before I post a question to NOT take it too seriously. Get real, if I had a deep, disturbing, or serious problem I would probably share it with my dearest, closest friend...and would probably not post it here.

So, the other side is that if you are a very sensitive person who gets offended easily, it may not be wise to open yourself up to the above named crowd (very large crowd).

I totally agree that it is unnecessary and offensive to receive (or give) vulgarity and ugliness in an answer. However, I know ahead of time that it is a distinct possibility. Even if they had email/IM ---- I WOULD NOT give them the satisfaction of lowering myself to their level and telling them off. I would just ignore it and move on.

But I would use the little flag button if I needed to. :-) bbjo

well all kidding aside i know what your talking about i just go into this section at night cause it is mostly kids and ill make whitty comments not really rude ones. But i answer more in the pets fish section and take it much more seriously. I leave my email and IM open so if you dont like what i have to say feel free to leave me a message and i will be happy to read and delete it then go on with my life. So my point being is who cares ignore it and take the answers you like and disregard the ones you dont.

Yes..it's easy to be brave on a computer. In real life they are just some meek little person who can only find strength in putting someone else down to make themselves feel better...on the computer. Which says a lot about them already. So...there ya go.

man is a social animal. In this modern world - avenues are more for communications - still certain people hide even their contact information - I don't understand what for they are doing - it's a kind of hypocracy, isn't it.

I totally agree - express ones views and accept others - nasty things happen in this world - whether u r contactable or not.

Welcome sister in this world of fantasy and adventure.

I think Jack said it well.
We have all had encounters with the pathetic that hide behind their screens. I say a pray for them. Their entire lives must be truly awful to resort to that behavior.
Peace be with you.

Well deary I have both email and IM and what I say may sometimes be construed as "ignorant" or "low life" but it's my opinion or chosen answer to the question so deal with it. If you don't like the answers don't leave ridiculous questions. If you have a problem with me I have no problem with you emailing me, iming me or even a knocking on my door! So don't judge me in with your dumbarse generalisations! Moron!

Yes, it is very easy to. I just ignore them, make them look stupid. And they're probably banging on their keyboards in frustration because I don't let them get to me, and move on to another person to annoy. Sucks for them that I enjoy my time online.
