This guy wanted to hire me for web design. His attitude was he knew it all, treated me like I was nothing and so on. I finally had it and told him to take his job and shove it and he's the biggest asshole I ever spoken with. Now he writes me this letter with the above in quotes. Even says if I contact him again, he'll file felony charges against me. As I am going to contact him again. Not a chance! He says he gave me business advice over the phone. This guy might sue for me the advice? We never signed an agreement. Says he taped our conversation tonight after we had talked- no that will be thrown out of court. This guy is a real nut.

You should file a restraining order.

For some people it doesn't take much for them to fell "threatened" and those people are willing to go through extreme measures to bring charges against whom ever thy thing has wronged or threatened them. The same thing can be said of individuals that will go through any means to get back at someone, and the way you quit is more than enough reason for some people. Finally well some people are just sue happy and make a living out of it. As far as the letter goes, I would hang on to it in case anything does come about that involves going to court. I wouldn't however answer the phone if you know it is him calling, but instead make a note of the time and date he called so you can establish a time line, again in case you end up in court. As far as him saying he tapped you conversation, well depending on the state sometimes that is legal as long as there were only the two of you on the line and in other states this move is illegal. Unfortunately the world is full of weirdos but I wish you good luck. 4 years of criminal investigation classes as well as a Private investigation course.

Do nothing. Let him contact you again. Then file for a restraining order and forward the mail to the proper authorities.

Let him hang himself, not the other way around.

seriously , i wouldn't worry about it because if he did give you advice, how much would it be worth? maybe 150 to 1200?? not enough in most professionals lives to drag someone to small claims court. only poss is if you really did something which constitutes a felony AND he is a vindictive SOB. then you're dealing with someone who has been called self righteous and anal in his past moments. just don't contact this person again. period.

Just stop returning his phone calls and keep all copies of correspondence. If he sues you, hire a lawyer. He's just trying to be an ***. Don't give him the pleasure of seeing you be one back.

And in the future, try to be civil on the phone.
