I agree and disagree. I have a home to hang onto and would like to furnish it is that not what most people have and work for money to extend the level quality of life they are living? Being happy in 2 years, the extra money is put towards investments and ways to increase my income so retirement won't be so scarry. I have none now, no benefits yet, I'm self employed. I smile alot, though

"And this too shall pass away".

Just like everything else.

In Hindu religion, we call it "moh-maya".... it is the attraction of something which you dont have. Once you get into it, you get entangled, and you start having attraction/hunger for even more.

In the process, if you've lost your innocent/loved ones or increased distance between locations of your loved ones and yourself, it can be depressing. Find simple ways to discover who you are, what you want. Keep the balance between dreams and reality. Keep the job, enjoy the income, make good friends. Find your passion in life. let me know if there was anything in my answer that ever made you / will make you think again about passion in ur own life. :)

One year ago, I listened over a weblog as someone criedout for help. I did nothing but read the blogs. I haven't heard anything more from him and cannot locate anyone who knows him. I suspect he is no more. I hope I am wrong.

How am I different? How did I change my life? I meddle. I stay in your face if I see something wrong. Hate me if you wish, but I will sleep well. I answer questions here, and try to explain why we should never give up in life.

I measure life not by what I can prove, but how well I sleep at night.

Peace-----> OUT

We measure success so differently.

If you earn more, you spend more. Or maybe you save more. Its only money. In a year or two, you will likely be unsatisfied and then again need to find the next job and the next salary increase to feel happy again. On and on, the pattern will follow you through life.

In my view, you haven't changed your life, but only perpetuated the same pattern.

Prepare for retirement, lower your cost of living, and plan vacations.
