Just kidding guys, I just find it funny that the residents were warned to evacuate, people ignored warnings to leave and then liberals wants to blame Bush.

Actually let me rephrase that, I don't find it funny that the residents chose to ignore warnings to evacuate, I find it funny that liberals want to blame Bush for things that are beyond his control. I wish all the victims a successful recovery.

diabetic lax playa- Yea, it is the governments job to reinforce the levees, but not Federal government, it's local governments job. So lets take a look at the local government that few days after Katrina hit. You have the Democratic Governor telling the National guard to "shoot to kill" the looters - yea, the people trying to feed their families. Then you have Democratic Represenative William Jefferson stealing the aid of the National Guard to go retrieve his personal items from his house- all while there were still residents on roof tops trying to get rescued! But yea, lets blame a Republican for the Democrats failure in a Democratic state...it's what liberals do best!

Read the news stories about FEMA, and how Administration cuts caused many of the top people to leave.

President Bush appointed Michael Brown, previous Commissioner for 11 years at the International Arabian Horse Association, as FEMA Director, and after Katrina was named "Principal Federal Official" and placed in charge of the federal government's response. It later emerged that he had no emergency management experience.

Bush may not have caused Katrina, but he's sure due the blame for the lack of a competent Federal response.

The government was responsible for reinforcing the levees that were damaged, which they failed to do, so they burst and New Orleans flooded. Bush by himself did not cause Katrina. He does not control the waters....there was only one man who could calm the storm. And although Bush thinks upon himself as God, he isn't.

But he shouldn't have said that he was going to help rebuild, and then leave all those people down there screwed. 2 years later, why are there still FEMA trailers?

Uh, no, Bush didn't "cause" Katrina, which is a naturally occuring hurricane. However, his administration bears a lot of the responsibility in responding to the hurricane and poor coordination of rescue efforts.

What is he God? Bush didn't cause Katrina, the problem is that the State Government of LA decided to wait 24 hours before letting the Feds help. That plus the fact that the state had no plan to Evac the residents.

Your question is a little too generic. At first glance it seems like you think that Bush created that horrible hurricane. He didn't cause Katrina, he just didn't handle the aftermath that great.

He didnt. Bush doesnt conrol the weather. He also didnt build a city below sea level that was a disaster waiting to happen. The real question is why should the taxpayer be rebuilding a city on the gulf BELOW SEA LEVEL that is going to flood again? If people want to be idiots and live there fine, but they should accept the risks and not expect the taxpayer to bail them out.

Where are the democrats to help since everyone blames Bush for the mess? They have the majority of the seats in Congress and have done not one thing to help the situation have they? Also, Bush could not help it if they have incompetent public officials in Louisiana for a governor and a mayor.

oh ya ... like bush totally just decided he didn't like New Orleans ... and he just sent a hurricane .... WRONG ! omg how stupid can you be ??????
seriously ... God caused the hurricane because all the people in New Orleans were wicked and God had given them tons of chances to repent ... but nooooooo they know better than God .... and what about the stupid mayor ? HUH ? what about him isn't it his fault as much as Bush's that they didn't have a system in case of hurricanes ???? Bush has tons of worries .. like stupid people in the government that have the same brain as you .. but it's pretty much all the people's fault because they didn't listen to God ...

Katrina's aftermath and the lack of response from the U.S. Government?

Cause his tornado machine was broken and a hurricane was all he could come up with on short notice. Now, back to the basement and take off that tin foil hat.
