LOL, good point. Something else I find ironic is when someone here in the Midwest (where we have killer tornados and floods and extreme humidity) says they wouldn't live in California because of the earthquakes or in Florida because of the hurricanes or Hawaii because of volcanos. Like there's such a place as Perfect, USA.

It's very strange. On the actually 9/11 my mom and grandma were flying out of Vegas. They ended up getting stuck on the runway for about 4 hours not know what was going on. That plan taxied back to the airport and they were stuck there for another 7 days. Vegas isn't the greatest place to get stranded after you spent a week there already and have no money left. Anyway, since that day, they still go to Vegas every September and either fly in or out on that date. This year, they are coming home on the 11th. I have no idea why.

I think his dates are wrong. I read an article a couple of months ago where some guy won the lotto, and his "powerball number" was 28.
The reporter asked him why he chose his powerball number. And he said "God told it to me".
Prodded by the reporter, the man said "Well, I dreamed "9" three nights in a row, and 9 times 3 = 28, so God wanted me to choose 28".
Edit: To the community - the entire POINT is that 3 x 9 isn't 28.

I totally agree. It is "whacked" to be superstitious about certain numbers. My brother, for instance, was born on a Friday.... the 13th. He mentioned this fact one day to some friends who were visiting, and one of the women literally backed away from him as though she had just found out he had some kind of incurable infectious disease. By the way, he seems perfectly normal to me...... and almost human
There is something about air travel, though, that appears to bring out the "stupid" in some people A friend of mine works at United.... and she's told me some really incredible stories. Some of the situations she's described have been laughable... while others have left me in awe of her ability to maintain composure. Then, there's the case of another of my friends.... who repeatedly warns people NOT to say "Hi" to him if they should happen to run into him at an airport. Then again, his name is Jack........ so,
PS...... Happy Birthday to your Mom.

I hope this doesn't sound uncaring, but I refuse to get morbidly reflective every September 11th. What happened was of course a horrible tragedy, but 3,000 people die every single day around the globe from starvation and other equally horrible circumstances. I say a prayer for the victims every September 11th, but I don't spend the entire day feeling depressed and put upon and frightened.
Think about it -- should we Americans summon up anti-British feelings every July 4th?

I agree with you, I work in the hospitality industry and you would not believe the reasons that people come up with to not pay a penalty. personally I think that the wrong date was booked and he did not want to pay extra. I usually give them the change without penalty just for creative genius and giving me a great story and something to laugh about. Security is always first priority now On Sep 11th, what better day to travel. We are lax in our thinking.

Nope. You have fears too -- just different ones. Fear are by definition irrational. As every human has fears, we then condemn ourselves to all be lacking in intelligence.
The assumption that because something bad happened on one Sept 11 is not a logical reason to assume that something bad will happen on subsequent Sept 11s. That reasoning is problematic. The evidence suggests that thousands and perhaps millions have flown on subsequent Sept 11s and not died. The evidence is in your complaint's favour.

The customer is always right. You probably don't even know that the 13th is Ramadan. It could have been a Friday as well. Thanks to Hollywood for that one! Remember that group think when large enough can have a surprising effect.
