They are just the same asking the same old questions and giving their answers...... we have to decide what is right for us....!!! There are no new questions to ask....

Philosophers of the past suffered under their own thinking in terms of depression. Modern day philosophers have the same affliction.
They have not cracked the code of the mind and continue to suffer. So no, neither is wise let alone wiser than the other.

The philosophers of yesterday are smarter and wiser than those of today; because yesterday they had very little to work with.
For example, when philosophers of today were creating ethics and saying, "hey, you shouldn't kill people..." they were saying it in a time when getting ahead in the world was all about killing people. Today, a philosopher may say don't kill, because 1) he knows there are laws and 2) he may have actual sympathies.

I don't think so. The Ancient Greeks tackled most of the questions worth asking, and handled them pretty well. There is such a long and rich history of philosophy that, it seems to me, the task of philosophers today is to apply the thought of the philosophers of yesterday to present-day situations.

Only seekers ask questions. Philosophers answer to those questions. Wisdom is not IQ that can be measured. No question of being wiser or not.

Well the theory is that today's philosophers are wiser because they have learned from yesterdays philosophers.
Well, that's the theory.......
......hate to see it put to any kind of scientific test.

Probably just more in tune with the ones who are questioning. You are right though, many questions seem to be repeated. Just like when Plato said to Yuppies of his day, "As long as you are Getting, Get understanding".
