anyone have suggestions on getting the weight off before TTC? I'm wanting to take off 50 lbs. SUGGESTIONS? no rude comments please.

If you want to try to concieve in the future after dieting, make sure to get plenty of folic acid in your diet, you can find folic acid in lots of green leafed veggies and some fruits like oranges. You can even find it as a food suppliment in your drug store.
Folic acid decreases your baby's chances of certain birth defects at conception.

If you want to lose the weight, eat healthy and fresh, Drink lots of water and stick to lean meats such as lean cuts of beef, chicken and fish. Beans and tufu are a good meat substitute and a great source of protein and folic acid.
try sticking to whole grains within your cereals and breads.
Bake or grill , instead of frying in oils.
Marinade lean meats, since they can be a little more tougher to chew, and to help keep your pallet interested.

Stay away from carbonated drinks,bacon, and processed foods and meats like hotdogs.

Also excercising with eating right will take the weight off with faster results.
Try doing sqwats while vacuuming, or stretching as far as you can , alternating hands
on the vac. Simply doing daily chores in a more physical way helps keep you from getting board of the same excersise routine.
Take the steps instead of the elevator. Walk instead of riding. I could go on and on....lol

These recommodations helped me lose 59 lbs after my 2nd pregnancy within 8 months.

I'm losing weight now. My doctor said that 1 pound a week is perfectly fine while TTC.

Rapid weight loss is fine provided you take extra caution to prevent pregnancy for a couple months before TTC. The problem is maintaining it, IMHO, but I'm pretty good at losing it.

My best suggestion is to limit breads to 4 servings a day and eliminate all sugar. (1 slice bread, 3 oz. potato, 1/2 cup rice, 1/2 cup pasta). Exercise by walking at least 30 minutes a day. Keep calories around 1,200 - 1,500 daily. Do not rely on fat-reduced foods. They replace fat with sugar which just makes the problem worse. Fat is what turns your appetite off. Just measure your portions and have one instead of 3.

Movie stars who lose a lot of weight for a part exercise 3-4 hours A DAY. So, increasing your exercise clearly will help. I am just one opinion. Do what you think works for you!

Just make sure your going to be in a healthy weight range and.. eat healthy and exercise. Don't put yourself at risk by starving it can reduce chances of pregnancy and also if you get pregnant when not eating right you will pile the weight on by eating what you and the baby need - then it can become a depressing pregnancy. Be happy with who you are and good luck.

well, you can do weight watchers, jenny craig, nutri system, ect. Or try buying a diet cookbook and join a gym or curves. Or find an online diet plan to follow. There are many good, effective weight loss programs, it may take a while to find one that suits your lifestyle. But losing weight before pregnancy is a good idea!! I wish I had done it, now I'm HUGE!!!!

use the freezer to add some extra oomph to summer foods freeze grapes for some bite sized delights or get a popsicle mold and freeze some greek yogurt with berries
