I've been with my fiance for three and a half years and everywhere we go we get people who look at us weird or make certain remarks....he's black and I'm white....is it really that wrong?....love knows no color....I don't see him for his color I see him for who he is....I even have trouble with his parents accepting me....and although they say it has nothing to do with me being white...I think that has a lot to do with it....why does it have to be such a big deal....no matter what anyone says we are still going to continue to love eachother regardless....but any advice on how to deal or why this happens?

I'm on your side. I don't like it when people look down on those in interracial relationships but it's something new, just like gay couples were a while back, and it just takes some time getting used to. It probably looks weird now because people aren't use to it, but as it matures, and more people are involved with interracial relationships, and more people experience it, it won't be weird anymore. For advice on how to deal with it, I don't think you really can besides ignoring it. I usually go for those that are not the same race because I absolutely don't care, and when people pays me awkward attention, I embrace and take it as something special. Attention's attention, and I'd like to show the world that I don't have to be limited to only my race.

Sorry you are going through this....just as love has no color, it is unfortunate that ignorance doesn't either. You are the better person for the way you are. Advice on how to deal with this? You dont need advice, You gave yourself your own advise. By your being together that will overcome the ignorance. Good Luck!

I will try to make this simple. White people in particular don't care to see others that are white with black people. I believe it is because the white people want to feel superior to the black race and when they see a black person with a white person they feel threatened. they see the black person as being their equal. I understand you because my man is black and i am white. you will get used to it. dont let others actions discourage you. they dont know what they are missing.

I understand where your coming from have you ever thought that people might be looking at you and your man because they see how happy you are or maybe you and your man brought memories for individuals who looked at you next time this happens instead of jumping to conclusions ask the bible states not to be judged til your judged alone

Don't worry about your enemies looking down on you. Continue your happiness with your man.
