The Pro-Israel lobby has been trying to pressure The USA into attacking Iran for a long time, just as they did with Iraq.

Problem is that Uncle Sam cannot afford the cost of another war for at least another generation as it is now the world's greatest debtor with little hope of ever repaying ( although grabbing Iran's oilfields may help the treasury towards paying off some of the interest).

USA most likely to fire off some missiles in response to Israel's threat to Nuke Tehran and in order to stop Israel from further inflaming regional tensions in the middle east.

Every time Israel wants conflict it simply holds the USA to ransom and threatens that if USA does not do their dirty work for them ,then the middle east will be involved in Nukes and/or Israeli Ethnic-Biological weapons of mass destruction.

The sooner the USA finds politicians who have the courage to put Americas interests first - rather than the foreign interests of Israel, then perhaps there may be a way to find peace ( with security) in the middle east.

I don't want to see anymore of America's finest GIs dying in Iraq in order to fight Israel's war by proxy.

If Israel wishes to invade another nation which is of no threat to us then I say let them do it but keep America out of it.

It may be better for security in the middle east if Iran developed nuclear weapons in order to shift the balance of power and counter the constant threat of invasion by Israel on its neighbours.

I doubt if Iran would be allowed to produce the weapons and the threat of air attack by USA or Israel is probable.

It must be remembered that Iran does not have antiquated weaponry as Iraq had, Iran has modern sophisticated weapons (some supplied by eastern block countries) and has fiercely loyal military personel.

Any attack/invasion would be no walk in the park.

The USA would not be prepared for casualties in the hundreds of thousands.

Also USA needs help from Iran in order to find some agreement in terms of the security of Iraq, any violation of Iranian territory would likely lead to an annexation of a large swathe of Iraq which could not be repelled as it would have total support from the southern Shia population.

It is very likely that Israel will attack USA military interests under the guise of an Iranian terrorist/military attack similar to the one in whick Israel Attacked the USS Liberty to make the USA respond to what would have been percieved as an attack by Egypt (in this case some of the American sailors survived and identified their attackers as Israeli).

Any such attack would be flagged by the media as an excuse for retaliation against Iran.

Air attack - possibly

War - very unlikely

Funny- I just posted the same question! And my answer is "yes". We are already in a war that we have no business being in and his agenda would be to be able to put military bases where all oil supplies are... If you would like to see some interesting facts, I watched this movie (on the internet for free) that was really interesting. Maybe you would think so too.

if iran reaches too far with their nuclear weapons development there will be a devasting war without a doubt, neither bush nor the next president, particularly if it is hillary, will follow same policy. some muslims refuse to undersand that. that could bring it on. a total annihalation of the great people of persia and all its glorious history will have one final war. nothing ever again. how close is it? close.

better now than later.

no. iran would backdown on its confrontational attitude. us would also find other means to deal with iran instead of going to war. us must also somehow fear iran or the unforeseen/unpredictable consequences of a war with that nation. main ally shah of iran was toppled, khomeini proclaimed america the evil empire, embassy was hostaged for over a year, iran allegedly supporting terrorists, declaring itself a nuclear power, but us did not go to war.

Nope. It's a lot of posturing by the Bushies. Their last allies in Iraq would turn against them the instant the first bombs fall on Tehran. Basra would go Baghdad the next day.

The question isn't will, but when. Given time, the U.S. will go to war with every nation on earth. Only if their empire crumbles can this be avoided, which I think it will. Do you know that the U.S. has been involved in over 200 armed conflicts since WWII?
