ive been searching for hours in my garden but i have only found one.. is there a certain time when they are the most present on the surface of the soil?

There are usually loads of them under rotting logs and mossy rocks and decomposing stuff like that. Not decomposing as in rotting flesh, as in damp, squishy things you'd find in a forest.

You're kidding, aren't you? Don't you have better things to do? I would put a flat rock on the surface of the soil and keep it moist. That should attract them.

try scooping up about an inch deep around any flowering plant and placing the dirt on a smooth surface. spread it out and pick out the bugs. Also, you can do the same with topsoil and grass. They LOVE grass roots.

they tend to hide under rocks and stones.hope this helps
