Any advice for me moving into my own place for the first time?

I am moving into my own apartment in the weekend,

it will be the first time that I have lived in my own place, on my own. I have lived in shared accommodation since I left home many years ago so I am a bit worried that it will get a bit lonely.

Any advice from people with similar experience as to what to expect? Any tips to keep me from going crazy?

The worst part is I won't have internet for a week or so, so no YA!

Here's some:
Go to the dollar store for cleaning supplies and clean everything before moving in (if possible), don't always trust the landlords when they say it's cleaned. You will feel better knowing what you have cleaned is clean and this includes the refrig and stove too.
Make sure you have gone to the post office and have your mail switched too.
As for being lonely, check out where the nearest video stores are. Movies and games (Nintendo/PlayStation) always helped me. Have friends over often. Make friends with neighbors too. See if you can have pets. If no to a cat or dog, then get some gerbils/hamsters/fish. (If yes, check out the nearest pet shelter/humane society). Make sure it's something your going to be able to take care of tho.
You could go to the local library, if you like to read, hang out there too. Also, seek where the nearest mall is at or movie theater. If you go to the chamber of commerce, they might be able to help you too with activities to do in the area.

Most of all........ENJOY it. It feels so good after living with people. You will get used to it. Trust me! I loved it. Good Luck with your move!
