Put simply when a planet is formed and is suitable for life.
Is it not possible that superstrings started life off.
Is it not possible the imformation is already in the superstrings to interact with a suitable planet, and they contain all the info needed to get the ball rolling...?

what is life.
no one can answer this question.
no one can explain what life is what makes it tick..even a single cell has the whole of humanity baffled

dr trevor..
lol...yes we already know all that..all you have to do is look it up on the net..
but there was something origonal in some of the words that you said about maybe superstrings having an influence on organic material.
as you said funny things happen on this level thing as yet to be explained.
that is why its called quantum mechanics.
and we all know about particle accelerators where they try and split smaller and smaller particles at close to light speed to create different particle.
but they are digging a hole were they cannot escape from.
there is an old saying the further you dig the deeper you get..

billy.
how can you say that superstrings is a very lame atempt to explain the origons of life.
I think its a very complex one.
its ok explaining it on a cellular level but those cells ultimately are made of ,,well you know what..

Super strings are a very lame attempt to explain the origin of the universe.
We live in a quantum universe, super strings destroy the quantization of the universe, which just couldn't be.
Life is the result of time, chemistry and environment.
All these things are abundant in all parts of the universe.
Eventually DNA would emerge, this contains all the information necessary to produce us.

life is really patterns that are made through chemical reactions..
proteins and the way they work together naturally and simply by just being the chemical they are. They coax themselves into "building" structures, under the right conditions of course. like temperature, charge, pressure, liquid suspension.

Its really just a matter of luck it seems, but without water and its liquid suspension, the structures could not have the "lift" or "help" to support themselves

I'd say thats the key to life really. Water and luck with
chemicals, not strings. I believe homedude up there is correct when he says strings are inhernitly part of life due to its structure of atoms, but strings do not "control" anything.

What I'm wondering is since our thoughts are electrons moving through our nerves and brain...
and super strings are real...
and they are in those electrons in my head...
and super strings stretch through multiple dimensions,
does that mean there's fragments of me and my thoughts in all dimensions and is that where I could find something I could almost call a "SOUL"

and I'm atheist

I dont know about Superstrings creating life, but I do know Sillystring can destroy it. That stuff is really dangerous, especially at bday parties when someones shooting that stuff whle the bday person blows out the candles, like in those blooper shows!

No one has suggested that super-strings may be "the origin" of life.

String-theory is merely mathematical model that attempts to reconcile the dichotomy between two very successful theories: Einstein's Theory of relativity and the standard model of Quantum physics.

Both theories have been proven correct through countless experiments. Both theories are employed successfully everyday. Every device that uses transistors or silicon chips makes direct uses of quantum mechanics. Every clock on every satellite must make small adjustments for the theory of relativity with its predicted and proved "time dilation." String theory is an elegant and mathematically robust system for uniting these two very successful theories, but nowhere in any scientific theory I've read is there the suggestion that strings may be the "origin" of life.

Now, here is what you might have confused with super-strings and their possible correlation to life...

The quantum world is weird and very chaotic. Particles seems to exhibit a mind of their own in a very real sense. As such, there are conditions where this chaotic behavior may influence the organization of elements and chemicals that eventually become living organisms. The quantum world is also very dependent on the laws of probability. As such, there may be a correlation between quantum particles and the origins of life, because life itself is a matter of chance.

Super strings are so incredibly small, that no direct evidence of their existence has yet to be experimentally proven. The best chance we have of seeing any evidence are when the LCH in CERN is fired up. They will be looking for the Higgs boson, and the graviton. Although these findings will not directly prove the existence of strings, if found, they will strongly suggest that string theory is correct.

We cannot assume that these invisible strings carry information, particularly information that causes life. In the best analogy I've found, it is only the various vibrational modes of these fundamental strings that affect their identity and function. That they may have "info" has never been postulated, to my knowledge.

Even if and when we find direct evidence of super-strings, that will not prove that they are the origin of life.

I will not accuse you of any malfeasance here, but I will say, your understanding of string theory is incorrect. This may be because of the colorful and fantastic way the media portrays string theory to laymen.

We all need to be aware that there is a great war on Reason afoot these days too. The forces of darkness and illusion, (religion) are making an all out attempt to pervert and confuse the efforts of real scientists. Creationists have tried to promote "intelligent design" (a euphemism for "creationism") in schools. Fundamentalist lobbies have successfully prevented stem cell research in the US based on their retarded misunderstanding of science and its confusion with abortion issues.

Everywhere I look on the Internet, magazines, TV and in book stores, I see popularized fiction based on very loose interpretations of modern physics. Although some of these fictional works are based on facts, they are also confused with popular fantasy about time travel, quantum mental influence and other bogus BS.

It may be that you have read or seen some of this pseudo science. You may have an abiding natural interest in science …and that is a good thing! But science is first and foremost a method for determining truth. It does not matter if that truth is from observation, experiment or a proven mathematical model.

The problem is, that unless a group of real scientists prove something, we cannot yet proclaim it as a fact. Even when we know that EVERY experiment verifies a theory, we still leave our minds open to change in light of new facts.

Fiction writers, have a creative motive for suspending disbelief. Creationists have a belief that defies suspension. Either of these groups could have contributed to your confusion.

To the extent that these strings influence the behavior of particles, they may indeed have interaction with the processes of life, simply because they interact with the particles of all matter, ...including living matter.

However, that is not proof of a cause nor does it suggest "origin."
.
Keep reading about science! Interest in science shows a natural desire for truth. We are on the verge of some dramatic and exciting revelations!

Please also stay aware that fiction is everywhere. Whether it is in the form of harmless fantasy or harmful lies of religion, that fiction should not be confused with fact.

my take on string theory is this: Most definately "string" materials are acceptable to consider another form of matter, but universe origins???? I believe in a more cellular theory.
