i would just raise the water level

if the water comes in like a waterfall, that's usually the reason you see so many bubbles

Hope that helps
Good luck

Its probably just because the hanging filter pumps water back into the aquarium with a free fall drop. and when the water goes it, it makes bubbles. like when you pour water into a tub. or when you pee. XD
if this is the case, you just need to get the water level higher.

I assume its a feature of the filter, as many filters have air valves to increase oxygenation. Look for a valve letting in the air. Its probably inside somewhere. I'm probably stating the obvious, sorry.

If you use any product while cleaning the aquarium, that may be the problem because when you use any type of product such as body wash product it produces bubble. Or just get the water level higher.
