If your tub is old - if I remember correctly the magic year is mid 70's - you want to be careful because they don't handle stuff that's very alcoline or acidic (will etch the finish) and heavier cleaners over time ruin the finish.
Try soaking some paper towels with hydrogen peroxide and let it sit for a few minutes then clean. You can try a couple times and see if it lightens up.

--Greased Lightning-- Comes in a spray bottle and has the big refill bottles. Is pretty cheap less than $3 for a 32 oz spray bottle. Our landlady specified that this was the only thing she wanted the tubs here cleaned with--because it cleans very well and doesn't harm the tub. And it does.. It gets all the soap scum, etc off.. Just spray it on and leave it a couple of mins, then wipe it off with wet cloth/rag. NO scrubbing! --and just a side note.. when I was moving here we brought our stove and so they moved theirs out. The area was Covered in old dried grease that had spilled down onto the wall and sides of cabinets (so gross)... I sprayed the Greased Lightning on it (laughing.. thinking yeah, this is gonna work..) and then, I WIPED that off with the wet rag--I was amazed and forever SOLD on plain ol' Greased Lightning.. (the company should pay me for this!!....lol) All true tho.. you wont go wrong with it!
Hope I helped!

we've severe not straight forward water, too. try lime away interior the spray bottle. it extremely works quickly, no heavy scrubbing. use gloves and don't enable it take a seat for extra effective than a minute or 2. it may take the end off your faucet. to maintain the stains from reoccurring as promptly, i found that it keeps bleach pills interior the bathroom tank. DH isn't loopy with regard to the heady scent, yet he isn't the single which has to bathe the lavatories.

I had that problem for years are tryed many different products. Finally found one that works great. Lysol Mildew Remover. The smell is strong, but it sure works. Just spray and let it sit for alwhile and just wipe the gunk off.
