I admit I do it often in work place. Sitting silent doesn't bring you any results. Those in higher positions of authority don't seem to mind encouraging such behaviour.

If you're not being noticed maybe you're not really doing your job. I don't butt kiss at all. My work alone speaks for itself and I do remain silent on the butt kissing portion. Then again I am a very outgoing person and always am able to converse with the uppers. It seems to me that the higher authority are constantly kissing my **** at my job. Try making a notable contribution at your job and they'll be coming to you. Go beyond your job.

I don't, which doesn't serve me in my job whatsoever as bum kissing is basically the way you get ahead. I refuse to, so I only got where I am based on talent, but I could have been much higher up if I'd done what the other girls in my industry do eg sleep with boys in bands, sleep with industry guys and media bigwigs. I didn't though, so I shall languish halfway up my ladder!
