In it's day, Night Of The Living Dead was the scariest of all. It had a child killing its mother, and one of the first movies where there was no hero. If you rent it today be sure it is an uncensored version.

The Excorcist...because it seems real to me. It is the most realistic scary movie ever to me. There were 4 of us watching this movie and in the thick of it, the remote control "flipped" off of the coffee table. I made everyone turn it off and take it out. I believe that there are forces out there that are very similar to this particular movie that are for real. I will not watch this movie to this day because I don't want to invite anything into the house that is evil.

The Shining... due to it actually being based on mental illness..not stupid, gory unreal junk. Also..Physco (the original) with Janet Leigh..its an old movie, BUT again, one of the top as stuff like that DOES happen. These movies are scary w/o gallons of blood being sprayed......

Prom Night, Happy birthday to Me, and When a stranger calls. The older movies are scarier than this new stuff.

Dawn of the dead. I had to sleep with the lights on for 2 weeks. And I watched that movie when I was 23.
