My computer does not automatically restart itself when I click on the restart computer button after installing a new program? I have to do it manually through the start menu. I have ZoneAlarm Security Suite(did scan and nothing), Spy-Bot Search&Destroy(scan and nothing), WinPatrol Plus, SpyWare Blaster, and SpyWare Guard...So I have no virus or spyware problems. Anyone have any ideas or solutions to why and how to fix my issue? It would be greatly appreciated.

What O/S are you running? Win98 used to be famous for shutdown problems.

All that software, it probably takes forever to shut down. Maybe if you wait long enough, it will.

I noticed when i installed things on my New Vista Machine, It asked me to restart but it didnt do it automatically, Maybe its just telling u that you need to do it, Sooner or later, And I do not like ZOne Alarm so that could be a problem in its self.

There are programs that doesnt need your computer to be restarted or even restart it later. you have not specified what programs you install, and why you need to restart it, it is really not bothersome as long as you can restart it manually, the result is still the same.

Consider yourself lucky, you get to positively make the computer restart, it is the bane of many that computers restart without being commanded.
