does anyone know how to get rid of "goat heads" weeds from a yard?

Best way is to pull them. It's the female plant you want to target. Stems near the roots are purple as opposed to the male plant that is all green.

Stems grow out and away from the roots, rooting as they creep along the ground. Lift all stems, freeing them from the ground, grasp all and pull. they come out easily.

Using weed killer will cause them to produce seeds/ stickers.
